Quebec Increases Application Fee, Sponsorship Income Settlement Funds

Quebec Immigration will be increasing its financial assistance criteria and also application fees for the year 2020 to reflect the reforms in the Quebec province’s median Consumer Price Index.

The demanded settlement funds and financial income requirements for sponsors in Quebec will raise on 1 January 2020. Processing fees of Application will also be going to increase on the same day.

In Quebec, the change in consumer prices was 1.72% in 2019. This figure omits tobacco, alcohol, and cannabis.

The current rate will influence the below scales:

• The Quebec residents financial capacity who are intending to engage in  family reunification in the group sponsorship program;
• The foreign nationals financial requirements who are intending to study in the province of Quebec and their dependent family members;
• The financial resources required to evaluate the financial self-sufficiency of QSWP applicants, entrepreneurs, self-employed workers, and the Quebec Experience Program applicants.

Latest Sponsorship Income Criteria

To sponsor a family member for PR in Quebec, sponsors need to demonstrate that they have attained a designated gross income over 1 year. The income demand varies depending as per the family members' number who is in the sponsor’s home, and the individuals number that being sponsored.

Processing Fees of Application

For applications to be processed the required fees need to be paid in full with the currency of Canada.

To apply for a PR from Quebec province, the primary applicant will have to pay CAD 812 as a processing fee. They also need to pay CAD 174 for each family member mentioned in the application.
