Germany is emerging as the most sought after destination for Indian students for pursing higher studies. This year, the country observes a rise in Indian students’ enrollments in various streams like science, technology and engineering. The governments’ efforts made through the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) is paying more and more for the country in attracting Indians students.
German universities offer more than 1,600 programs in English, which are attracting more number of Indian students. Moreover, the government also offers funds to the students. The higher education is of free of cost or a small amount (some Euro 500 per semester) will be charged for tuition fees.
DAAD state that all students including foreign and native will have to pay a semester fee between 50 and 250 Euros, which completely depends on the university and benefits offered.
Notably, between 2013 and 2014, 9,619 Indian students have enrolled in German universities for higher education, which has increased from the previous year by 2000.
Fortified with top nine tech universities such as RWTH Aachen, TU Darmstadt, Braunschweig University of Technology, TU Berlin, Leibniz University of Hanover, Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, TU Dresden, and TU Munchen and University of Stuttgart, Germany is drawing the attention of Indians students who aspire to pursue their post graduation abroad.
Karan Gupta, the Mumbai-based education consultant added that Germany is the most admirable place to study technology, particularly automobile engineering at both undergraduate and master’s level. Additionally, graduates and post-graduates will be able to reside in Germany after finishing their academic courses.
With the intention to attract talent from overseas, the Government of Germany has streamlined entry and residence norms for skilled qualified workers.
