Dmitry Medvedev, Russian Prime Minister announced on Monday that businessmen and travelers from 18 countries including India will not be requiring a visa to visit the Far East part of Russia. The decision was done on a basis of a mutual agreement and the countries were selected by the Prime minister himself.
The residents of countries which have been exempted from the visa requirement include Algeria, Bahrain, Brunei, China, India, Iran, Japan, Kuwait, Morocco, Mexico, North Korea, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Tunisia, Turkey, and UAE.
According to the report of TASS the Russian Prime Minister had declared that the nationals of the listed 18 countries will be able to visit the country without any visa requirement for tourism and business purpose.
Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, announced "I have of late agreed to the list of countries, whose citizens can be benefitted with the special regime. Businessmen and travels will not need to undergo the traditional procedure of Russian visas receipt. We are proactively forming the modern infrastructure and creating special regimes in the Far East; the law on visits to the Vladivostok free port was approved in March." The initiative can be considered as an outcome to enhance tourism sector and increase the investment in the Far Eastern part of the country.
