SA Reiterates Its Primacy

Post-apartheid South Africa reiterated its primacy in the African Continent by successfully concluding its second term as the Permanent Council member on Thursday. South Africa concluded its second term as an elected member of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) on 31st December.

South Africa's leadership role and significant contribution to the work of the Council on African issues, particularly on the Sudan, South Sudan, Somalia, the DRC, Mali and Libya, as well as its principled position on Middle East and Western Sahara, were well recognized in the comity of nations.
