Job seekers in Australia can get assistance in exploring their career options through the new and improved myfuture website.
Myfuture is a career information portal of Australia which was set up in 2002. It is a joint initiative of all the territory and state governments of Australia and is managed by ESA (Education Services Australia).
After a detailed research involving industry and business, youngsters and people who help others cultivate career related skills, the changes to myfuture were developed.
Senator Scott Ryan, Minister for Education’s parliamentary Secretary said that myfuture website is an excellent resource for people at all stages of life, from students who are at the end of their education, to people who are considering a job change.
Senator Ryan said people can use the site to probe their interests, identify potential employment opportunities, and find out what skills and qualifications are necessary for those jobs. People can even access information on regional job demand and wages.
A new feature ‘Assist Your Child’ is included in the upgraded website, which was designed to accommodate those who have the highest influence on a child’s career choices - parents.
Senator Ryan said this portal provides parents with up-to-date information on the choices available to their children, so they can encourage them to make the best possible decisions about work and study in Australia.
The website also provides new features for students, including a forum where students can talk online to industry professionals from various fields. The new mobile versions will make the portal easy to navigate through tablets and smartphones.
The upgraded myfuture site will help Australians in implementing the change in a new career or work successfully, and it is a helpful resource for staff in employment, educational and career related settings.
The site had, on an average, over 2 million page views per month in 2013.
