According to SEEK’s new report, the level of new job advertisements is continuing to stabilize in Australia. The number of new ads for jobs placed with SEEK has increased 0.9% in August.
Joe Powell, Managing Director of SEEK says that it's good to see this stabilization and with a 2.6% raise in the past three months and 1.3% raise in September, NSW (New South Wales) really stood out in regards to the new ads for jobs.
Mr. Powell also said that the new job ads’ stabilization appears to reflect a balance between negative and positive factors across Australia. While new ads for jobs have stabilized across the board, applications for those jobs are rising continuously. This is shown in the Employment Index of SEEK.
Mr. Powell said that it is possible that the rise in applications may be because of the growing number of people getting into the labor market searching for work, along with the slight increase in the confidence of job seekers to find a new job.
