Shopping Extravaganza Opens

The Emirate being showcased as shopping and entertainment destination was more than fulfilled on Thursday evening with a dazzling display of fireworks and colors at the grand opening ceremony for the Dubai Shopping Festival.

Pyrotechnics filled the skies with colors and a hi-tech show of the emirate history was displayed on waters of the Dubai creek. The other venues involved in the grand opening ceremony were Creek park, Heritage village, Al Seef street and Dubai festival city.

Boosting the image of Dubai as the destination, there were ethnic kiosks representing many countries, including USA, India and African nations. One of the events was tea-tasting, where tea-making was explained. Considering there are tea traditions in various countries, particularly China and Japan, not forgetting the Iranians, it was quite a revelation.
