Government of British Columbia in Canada is setting up a Task Force aimed at boosting the number of skilled workers and investors immigrating to the province.
This task force will be responsible to analyze how skilled immigrants and foreigner come to the province and what should be done to attract skilled workers looking to emigrate. It will also review the efficiency of all of British Columbia's current immigration programs and make recommendations on how to improve the federal government's responsiveness to immigration needs for skilled workers throughout Western Canada.
Head of the task force, John Yap, said many skilled people from all over the world are willing to come to British Columbia. The main motto of the force is to make it simple for skilled workers to emigrate.
The program will review the following programs:
The Task Group will begin its work immediately and submit a final report by the end of March 2012.
Mrs. Clark said, “We’ve laid out an ambitious plan to create jobs in the B.C. Jobs Plan and we will need skilled immigrants to help fill more than one million job openings expected over the next decade, We don't know yet, how we're going to fill those jobs."
As a part of this program the task force will contact the employers, sector associations and industries settlement service providers, community associations and other relevant groups.
Clark said, “This is a province and a country that was built on immigration and that hasn't changed." She also mentioned that she will be happy to see the removal of restrictions from the Provincial Nominee Program which works for fast-tracking educated, experienced, skilled workers into the economy and accelerates the process to secure permanent residency.
