South Africa Unveils New Critical Skills Visa List Of Shortage Occupations

South Africa’s department of Home Affairs has released Critical Skills Visa list of shortage occupations after the new immigration act was announced a week back.

Malusi Gigaba, Minister for the Department of Home Affairs expressed confidence that the department has dealt with all the standards. The rules of NCOP (National Council of Provinces) were thoroughly checked and hoped that they are in accordance with constitutional laws.

Mkuseli Apleni, Director General of Home Affairs said that they there is an absolute necessity of people from overseas to come to the country and contribute to the economic growth of the country.

In order to accomplish this there is a necessity to provide permits for people, which allow them to come into the country easily.

Critical Skills Visa list has included the list of trades and the businesses that are eligible for work permit irrespective of a job offer.

Critical Skills Visa list includes categories of Business, Economics and Management Studies, Information Communication & Technology, Engineering, Health Professions and Related Clinical Sciences, Life and Earth Sciences, Professionals and Associate Professional, Trades, Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) and Academics and Researchers.
