South Australia Publishes Work Visa Skills List

The Australian immigration office for the South Australia has produced an interim list of occupations that are suffering from skills shortages. It has also already stated that it is now accepting sponsorship applications from companies who wish to hire foreigners holding Australia visas.

The South Australia website states: "Immigration SA is pleased to advise that we will be accepting new Sponsorship applications for migrants who wish to live and work in South Australia."

State Migration Plans (SMPs) are still to be finalised and, although these have not yet been implemented, South Australia is keen to offer sponsorship for people hoping to fill the skills gap in the region.

Some now fear that the new SMPs may not be released until early next year as Australian immigration minister, Chris Bowen has taken up the place newly.
