Stricter Rules To Check Family Migration To UK

A complete clamp down is expected on several thousands of immigrants who have been using fraudulent methods through family visa according to leaked UK cabinet letter. The UK Immigration authorities are much annoyed with this practice.

Stricter rules will be enforced in the form of:

• A higher level of income to bring in a spouse, dependent or partner from outside the European Union
• In case the applicants have more than two children as applicants then the rate of cut off income level will be much higher
• The probationary period for partners and spouses applying for permanent residence must be enhanced from 2 to 5 years
• Also focus is on tougher English language requirements

Most of the women who come under this category are women from Pakistan, India and Bangladesh. If this decision is formalized, then there would be a reduction of 15,000 immigrants to UK every year. The proposed package is to be implemented from June 2012 and is meant to reduce burden on the local tax payers. The idea is to differentiate between “genuine” and “non-genuine relationships”. Of course, some political quarters that are liberal in their approach towards Asian immigrants may make a demand for lowering cut off level of the income.
