Alberta is proposing to change rules which would make it easier for Temporary Foreign Workers to live in Canada Permanently.
As per Deputy premier Thomas Lukaszuk ,these changes will stop “a revolving door” policy, which may be unfair to workers as well to employers who train their staff only to see them leave Alberta and return home.
As per the existing rule Foreign Workers who desires to apply for Permanent Citizenship need approval from their employer before they can apply for permanent resident status.
Lukaszuk says as per the new rules, temporary workers now are not required to be nominated by their employer. They now can apply for permanent status on their own.
He however says the approval is subjective to eligibility. The final decision will be taken by Federal Government and is subject to Cap.
