The US Proposes To Talk With India On Visa Fee Hike

United States has come forward to discuss with India on the visa fee hike on H1B and L1 visa categories. The Visa fees $4000 for H1B and $4500 for L1 visa categories would burden the Indian IT sector by $ 400 million annually, according to the Nasscom estimates, the IT body of India.

The United States possibly gave April 4 and five dates for consultation with India. However, India will examine the situation and based on the availability of the officials, and it would react to the proposal of the United States.

Indian IT industry is not hopeful that the plan to discuss the issue in the early April will not give any meaningful solution shortly. The increased fee hike severely affects the financial health of the Indian companies operating in the US. India is the biggest software exporter to the United States.

India has moved to WTO and raised the issue of the visa hike against the United States, which is against the WTO rules. Indian Commerce Ministry is preparing to prove the discriminatory measures by the United States in Indian IT industry.
