Fingerprints and Photo of an individual, also called as ‘Biometric Data’ will soon be a part of your visa application if you need a visa for Denmark, Iceland and any of other Schengen Area.
As of 14th November, 2013, all the applicants should appear in person for the submission of the biometric data: a photograph and 10 fingerprints are collected from the people applying for a visa.
Prior to the recording of photo, applicants may need to adjust head coverings or remove glasses if they hide facial features.

The introduction of Biometric Data is part of the Schengen VIS (Visa Information System).
People who possess a valid visa without Biometric Data for Denmark and the Schengen Area can travel with that Visa till the time it expires.
