The United Arab Emirates is working towards modifying the method it uses currently to calculate the 30 days validity period of its visas on arrival.
As per the official statement, “under the new calculation method, the past practice of receiving a 30-day visa-on-arrival, exiting prior to the 30 days, and then returning, still within the original 30 days, and receiving a new visa-on arrival for another 30-day period is no longer possible.”
With the implementation of the new rule, the 30 days visa on arrival will be valid even if the immigrant leaves the country. While re-entering the country, the tourist will be allowed to enter on the initial visa if it is valid.
The tourist won’t be eligible to apply for a fresh visa on arrival second time. The foreign national can apply for 20 days extension once he is in the country on his old visa.
Since the UAE government gives a grace period of 10 days to the visa holders along with initial 30 days, the total stay can be calculated as 40 days. Further with the extension of 20 days, the immigrant can stay in UAE for a total period of 60 days.
