UK Attracts Indian Skilled Workers With New Visa Hub In Bengaluru

An increase in the number of
Tier 2 Visa applicants for the professionals sponsored by UK employers with Sponsorship Licences from the city of Bengaluru, prompted the Government in the UK to open a new Visa Application Centre here. In November,
UK immigration minister Brandon Lewis officially opened the new UK visa hub, located in Whitefield.
The step taken by the
UK Visa and Immigration is not convincing as they are giving the impression of smooth access for Indians to obtain UK visas. When the
UK Tier 2 Visa holders find that the UK employers, possessing Tier 2 sponsorship licenses, lose their sponsorship license, for minor reasons they are required to find a new job with another sponsor or just exit from the Country.
Presently the Tier 2 sponsorship license system and its requirements are baffling, contradictory and deceptive and employers find it impossible to comply with the requirements. The UK Visa department must help Indians by ensuring that the tier 2 visa system is fair, inexpensive and easy to understand and pursue.
The decision to have the VAC in the center of the city is an attempt to attract top skilled workers residing in this IT capital. The government has hope that it will benefit IT firms, like Tata Corporate Services and Infosys; and give easy access to the top talents of the country to get UK tier 2 visas.
UK Visa Faster Application Process
Brandon Lewis also claims that the changes in the rules, done recently, will simplify and speed up the process of visa application. The eligibility criteria to obtain the visa on the same day, three-day priority visa applications as also super priority services, have been expanded.
Consequently, students, fresh visitors, tier 2 applicants and other work visa applicants can avail these services. On this occasion, he reiterated that the UK government aims to strengthen relations between India and the UK. He said that the opening of this center is an example of the commitment of the government to make businesses work with the UK more accessible. India was an essential partner for the UK, and there is a policy to build on this relationship and position Britain as a genuinely global destination.
Indians on Tier 2 Visas can do business with Britain
Mr. Lewis went on to add that the UK remains open for companies, and the Home Office is repeatedly taking steps to get tough on UK immigrants. He claimed that the new VAC would make it easier for the bright and top Indian workers in the IT industry to arrive in the UK. Both countries must benefit from sharing technology, expertise, and ideas.
This VAC has become the 18th center to work in India. It has a presence in Delhi, Chandigarh, Pune, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad Cochin, Gurgaon, Trivandrum, Goa, Jalandhar, Jaipur, Lucknow, Mumbai (2 Offices), Kolkata, Chennai, and Bengaluru (2 Offices).
60,000 UK Work Visas issued to Indian nationals in 2016
Based on the figures of the Home Office, 60,000 Indian citizens received the UK work visa. Bengaluru gets the most significant share of tier 2 permissions in India. Two-thirds of global UK visas given to Indians. For now, Indians also receive several UK tourist and student visas.
