UK Employers Concerned About The Effect Of The Immigration Cap

Employers in UK are worried about the decision regarding UK visa cap. The main reason being, one out of every 10 companies in UK wants to outsource jobs overseas next year. Also, top business establishments in the UK feel that the cap would lead to the ending of the entry of skilled immigrant professionals leading to huge economic blunder for the UK economy.

Findings of the recent study by CIPD(Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development) and KPMG(an accounting giant), finance, IT and call-centre jobs in the UK are probably going to be relocated to overseas, with India likely to become the biggest relocation centre for such jobs. The findings also revealed that several firms are seeking recruitment of foreign workers. And, nearly, one out of six firms admitted of the likelihood of hiring immigrant workers in the second half of the current year.

India and China will be the most affected countries due to the immigration cap. And the most hit professions will be doctors, IT professionals, engineers and nurses.

It has already been noticed that. UK is facing a high rate of joblessness in the nation, but this does not seem to lessen the acute shortage of high skilled migrant workers. Meanwhile, there seems to be a blessing in disguise for countries like India and China as UK firms are planning to outsource 2/3rds of jobs to India and 1/3^rd to China. Since the survey findings also suggest that UK firms are planning of outsourcing two-thirds of jobs relating to IT, call center and finance to India and one third to China. As such, outsourcing jobs to India and China has already proved advantageous.
