More than Delhi’s smog, the hot topic around for immigration aspirants is the visit of the United Kingdom’s Prime Minister Theresa May’s visit to India. This visit is the most talked as this is her first bilateral visit outside the European Union post Brexit. Theresa May along with 33 business representatives has landed in India on Sunday to reboot the relationship between the world’s oldest democratic country and the world’s largest democratic country.
Indian’s had always expected a good deal on cards on May’s visit to India, regarding different immigration issues faced by the Indian students in the UK, and also to go ease the rules for UK tier visas. However Theresa May have put the Indian hope on fire when posted the question on the above issues stating, “Britain was already able to attract the brightest and best from outside the EU. The figures show that we issue more work visas to India than I think US, Australia and China put together. Nine out of 10 visa applications from India are already accepted. We have, I believe, a good system.”
On the brighter side May stated that she wanted an open relation with India, laying out plans for India to become the first country to be put on registered travelers scheme, which means lesser forms to fill out, access to EU/EEA passport control, swifter passage through Britain airports.
