UK Starts New Scheme For Indian Finance Professionals

A new study program was started by the United Kingdom for Indian finance professionals that offer scholarships to study in Britain. This program called Chevening Financial Services Leadership was started by George Osborne, UK Chancellor at a meeting with Finance Minister, Arun Jaitley. Britain’s Treasury Department said this unique program would help foster financial ties between both UK and India and would aid in gaining a stronghold of UK being the centre for global finance.

During the meeting, both sides of the diplomats held talks regarding Insurance Bill in India that will help build more chances for insurers of UK in India. It would also bolster economic and financial connections between both the nations. The bank secretary to the Treasury and the Indian Prime Minister’s Diaspora Champion, Priti Patel met the Indian Finance Minister after the meeting got over.

Patel would be co-anchoring a forum with the London Stock Exchange as well as the City of London Corporation, where she would open the dialogues that will bring to the limelight the varied opportunities for making investments in the Indian fiscal market. The important outcome of this meeting would be dispensed into the Fiscal partnership of both the countries.

LSE CEO Xavier Rolet would welcome Jaitley to the financial district of London. The institutional investors would be inclusive of major British banking groups and FICCI members like its members. Also other members who are expected to be present are Jyotsna Suri, Bharat Hotels President, Neeraj Kanwar , vice chairman and MD of Apollo Tyres and Rajan Bharti Mittal associated with Bharti Enterprises.
