UK Universities Welcome More Indian Students For Education

In a bid to allure more Indian students to study in the UK, the country is sending a minister to India this week. The main purpose of minister’s visit to India cites to the drop of Indian students travelling to the UK for pursuing education due to stringent visa regime. 

The minister for Universities and Science, Greg Clark, is going to visit India this week to address the rising unwelcoming picture of Britain amid Indian students.

The minister said that there have been anxieties expressed in India regarding how the welcoming would be towards the students pursuing their education in the UK.

He added that the UK government not only welcomes Indian students cordially but, also says that their exits no cap on the number of students.

The president of Universities UK, Prof Christopher Snowden, who is going to accompany the minister—Greg Clark, said that the visit to India is a chance to build major higher education associations that exists between two nations.

Prof Christopher Snowden said that the Universities UK, as a delegate body for all the universities in the UK’s, continue to campaign to make sure that the eligible overseas students and staff are allured to come to the UK, which includes widen the opportunities for the eligible overseas student to reside in the UK and work for a certain period as well as contribute to the country’s economy.

He added that it is also significant to focus that the global students can work for 20 hours per week, while studying in the UK and the after their study work opportunities in graduate jobs are also accessible.

Universities UK, claims that Britain remains to be one of the most desirable destinations in the globe for global students.

The second most popular country that sends students to study in the UK is India, followed by China. As of now there are 22,385 Indian students registered at higher education institutions in the UK, among them 12,280 were new comers during the academic year 2012-2013.

The UK allures students from several nations including India.  Indian students, besides other global students make a significant contribution to higher education and to the country in various aspects such as economically, culturally and academically.
