H1-B visa which is popular among international high skilled workers is now being the most talked after Trump called it as “very very bad for workers” and pledged to investigate visa programs that were abused. Under this uncertainty over what will be the future of the worker on H1-B, foreign engineers are thinking twice to work with startup.

“We’ve seen engineers who are on H1-B tell us that they’re specifically looking to move to a new company that’s larger and has more resources that the company they are currently at,” told current startup company owner. There is a potential bright spot for startups looking for technical talent, but the unpredicted policies are pulling them back on progress.
