CEOs from top 100 IT sector have appealed to the USA Senate to pass the comprehensive immigration bill. CEOs from companies like Facebook, Google and Microsoft are of the opinion that the new immigration bill would open a new path to the country's innovation and economic strength.
Reforms in the bill would significantly affect high skilled immigration with major reforms proposed in the availability of green cards and H-1B visas. The rise in both the green cards and H-1 B visas will help address the skills shortage in near future.
Immigration bill also proposes a fund for STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) education which would also benefit the Americans in long term.
The comprehensive immigration bill (S.744) will protect and better prepare professionals from USA, and enable employers and entrepreneurs of all sizes in each state to recruit and retain the best talent from world, as per the letter.
"Senate approval of S.744 is essential for our economy to continue to foster innovation and invigorate many US business sectors through an educated and highly skilled workforce of domestic and foreign-born talent,"
"Absent reform, if every American graduate receiving an advanced STEM degree gets a job, the US is estimated to face at least 2,00,000 unfilled advanced-degree STEM jobs by 2018. These unfilled jobs represent lost opportunities for our country, but with S.744, we can fill these jobs, create new ones and invest in a future of economic growth,"
"Your support for S.744 will allow America to better realise opportunities for innovation and job creation today, as well as secure our economic strength in the future,"
