US Embassy Organized Second Annual Student Visa Day In Indian Cities

NEW DELHI: Indian students had a golden chance to attend the Second Annual Visa Day on 9^th June 2016 in the capital and several other cities across the country.

Cities where it was held are Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata and Mumbai. The Student Visa day was organized to develop the higher educational ties between India and USA. A grand number of 4000 students applied for visas.

Charge D'Affaires Michael Pelletier said, “When students from different countries and cultural backgrounds study together, they exchange new ideas, break down stereotypes and gain knowledge of different cultures.”

At present, for higher education in US 1, 32000 Indian Students are enrolled. This makes them the second largest group of foreign students following China. Statistics show, that the visa applications which are sent to US are up by 29% in the last year.
