In a bid to improve and streamline the US immigration process for high skilled immigrants, the senators have introduced two bills and the sponsors said that they are positive about their prospects. By passing the bills, businesses could find the required skilled labor and indicates improvements on immigration.
Sources said that measures to boost immigration for highly skilled employees, mainly in the tech field have encouraged a long time.
The Immigration Innovation Act, entitled as I-Squared, which would considerably increase the count of available visas for temporary high skilled employees, by increasing the current cap from 65,000 to 115,000, with an extent to increase up to 195,000 under certain situation. The plan also excludes certain categories of immigrants from the employment-based green card’s quota, thus, successfully increasing the number of available visas by two times.
Another bill named as Startup Act, supported by six senators will generate a new visa type for entrepreneurs planning to commence companies in the United States.
