Vienna Celebrates March 25 Too

Greeks who live in Austria came together on March 25 for Independence Day celebrations with a doxology sung at the Greek Orthodox Church of the Holy Trinity on Fleischmarkt in the 1st district of Vienna. The celebrations continued at the monument of Rigas Feraios, the Greek writer, political thinker and forerunner of the Greek War of Independence.

Hundreds of Greeks participated in the doxology and the ceremony for the National Day of Greece along with Austrians and representatives of Greek and Cypriot services in Austria.

Niki Kamba, Minister-Counselor  of the Embassy of the Hellenic Republic in Austria, was also there, representing the Ambassador Themnistoklis Dimidis, along with the Cypriot Ambassador, Kostas Papadimas.

Students of the Greek National School of Vienna were present at the monument of Rigas Feraios where wreaths were deposited by Niki Kamba, Kostas Papadimas and representatives of the Greek communities of The Holy Trinity and Saint George.
