Vienna In Summer Olympics Bid

Vienna is set to hold a referendum to ask its residents what they think of Vienna bidding to host the summer Olympic games in 2024 or 2028 according to local media reports today (Tuesday).

This would be the first time Vienna has hosted the Olympics in its history.

It is thought the referendum will take place in March 2013, but there is not yet official confirmation.

The city council is set to make a decision on Friday according to the reports.

The city of Vienna hopes that hosting such an event would have a very positive effect on the image of the city after witnessing the positive effects the summer games in London had on the British capital this summer.
