Western Australia LNG Sector To Add Thousands Of Jobs

Western Australia's requirement for workers in the liquefied natural gas (LNG) industry would increase by thousands, as several world-scale LNG projects in the state move from construction phase to the operation phase in coming 5 years.

"These projects are generating thousands of employment opportunities during construction. As [they progress] towards operation over the next five years, the LNG operator workforce is expected to rise rapidly."

APPEA has stated in a report that the enormous construction work in Australia's petroleum sector will add more than 100,000 jobs in coming few years. This will be followed by production phase which will create more than 1 million jobs in the upstream oil and gas support industries.
