Possibly the greatest news to come out from the Canadian Express Entry system in the year 2019 was the amount of performance among Express Entry associated provincial nomination streams.
Canadian Provincial Nominee Program (P.N.P) enables engaging territories and provinces to nominate a fixed number of skilled professionals and other economic immigration applicants for Canada PR.
Each of the 9 provinces and 2 territories that take participation in the PNP has a minimum of one so-called “enhanced” nomination category that is associated with the Federal Express Entry system and enables them to nominate applicants with an active profile in the pool of Express Entry.
Several enhanced nomination categories have a less or even no CRS demand and, as a consequence, provide possibilities to chosen Express Entry applicants who may not have the minimum expected score to receive an ITA.
Applicants selected by these categories usually have work experience that is required in the province, along with other requirements.
Some of the most important activities in the year 2019 took place in improved nomination streams which operated by the provinces of Alberta, Ontario, Nova Scotia, and Saskatchewan.
Ontario’s 3 Express Entry associated nomination streams – French-Speaking Skilled Worker, Skilled Trades and Human Capital Priorities announced a combined 8,906 ITAs to Express Entry applicants in 2019.
In the total 8,906 ITAs, the Human Capital Priorities Stream throughout 5 draws in 2019 issued 6,958 ITAs.
The focused rounds of invitation accounted for 2 of the draws managed through the Stream of Human Capital Priorities in 2019 and produced in 3,396 ITAs to Express Entry applicants.
One of the biggest stories of 2019 was the development of Alberta's Express Entry Stream as one of the Canadian active PNP pathways.
The Alberta PNP invited 6,884 Express Entry applicants to apply for an Alberta provincial nomination throughout 31 selection rounds in the year 2019. 5 out of 31 selection rounds required a minimum CRS score of 300 and all of them had a minimum CRS score demand which is less than 400 points.
Saskatchewan’s Express Entry Category issued more than 5,000 ITAs for a provincial nomination for Canada PR to Express Entry applicants.
A pivotal development in this specific pathway was the change from a List of In-Demand Occupations to an Excluded Occupations List in Sept 2019. This move developed the number of qualified occupations from 19 to higher than 200 and later EOI selection rounds observed over 3,800 Express Entry applicants invited to apply for a Saskatchewan provincial nomination for Canada PR between Sept 25 and Dec 20.
In total, the Saskatchewan PNP invited 4,836 Express Entry applicants to apply for a Saskatchewan provincial nomination in 2019.
On the Canadian Atlantic coast, the Nova Scotia province also made constant use of its Labour Market Priorities Stream to invite applicants in the pool of Express Entry.
The Nova Scotia PNP utilized the Labour Market Priorities Stream on 8 occasions in 2019 to invite a wide variety of experts from the Express Entry pool it includes financial auditors and financial accountants, designated nurses, early childhood educators, social workers, and applicants with work experience in marketing, advertising, and public relations.
