Alberta Immigration: Issues 148 Invitations To Express Entry Applicants

The recent draw by the Alberta PNP’s Express Entry associated immigrant nominee stream directed out 148 invitations to apply for a nomination from the province for Canadian PR.

Express Entry applicants selected in the 6 November 2019 draw needed a CRS score of minimum 400 points to receive an invitation, along with other criteria.

The Canadian Express Entry system regulates the pool of candidates for Canadian 3 principal economic immigration classes

• Federal Skilled Trades Class
• Federal Skilled Worker Class
• Canadian Experience Class

Express Entry applicants are awarded a CRS score that depends on human capital parameters such as the age of the principal applicant, educational level, work experience, and language proficiency as well as further factors such as a nomination from the province.

A nomination from the Canadian province is worth a supplementary 600 CRS points and efficiently ensures that an applicant will be issued an Invitation to Apply (ITA) from the Canadian Government.

In order to be counted for a nomination from Alberta, applicants must have a valid profile in the federal Express Entry.

Alberta Express Entry Stream

The Alberta PNP manages Alberta's Express Entry Stream, which permits the Alberta PNP to search the Federal Express Entry pool for suitable candidates.

The A.I.N.P says Express Entry applicants who can show strong links to Alberta province, or who can boost the province’s economic advancement and diversification goals, may be asked to apply for a nomination.

While an employment offer is not mandatory in the province of Alberta, having an employment offer could improve one’s possibilities of being invited. The A.I.N.P states it is more likely to announce invitations to Express Entry applicants who:

• Have a job offer from an employer in Alberta and/or relevant work experience; and/or
• Graduation from a post-secondary institution in Canada; and/or
• Have a relative residing in the province of Alberta such as a child, sibling, and/or parent.
