Alberta Immigration: Issues 351 Invitations In The Latest Two Draws

Alberta Immigration has announced the number of applicants invited for Canada PR and score requirements of the most recent two Alberta's Express Entry Stream draws.

On 22 January 2020, the Alberta Provincial Nominee Program (AINP) issued a sum of 201 invitations to apply for an Alberta provincial nomination for Canada PR. Applicants required a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of above 350 points to receive an invitation from Alberta Immigration.

Then after one week on 29 January 2020, Alberta immigration issued 150 invitations to apply to Express Entry applicants with a CRS score of 300 points.

The Stream of Alberta Express Entry permits the Alberta PNP to select qualified candidates with an active profile in the federal Express Entry system, which controls the pool of aspirants for Canada immigration programs: the Canadian Experience Class; Federal Skilled Worker Program; and Federal Skilled Trades Program.

Express Entry applicants with an Alberta provincial nomination will get an additional 600 CRS points toward their entire CRS score, which efficiently guarantees to receive an invitation to apply for Canada PR in a succeeding federal Express Entry draw.

One of the benefits of Alberta's Express Entry Stream is that it gives an opportunity to obtain Canada PR for Express Entry applicants who are having lower CRS scores. For example in the recent federal Express Entry draw that held on February 5, the CRS demand was 472 points.

To be eligible for the Stream of Alberta's Express Entry, applicants need to be working in a profession that supports the province’s economic growth and diversification preferences.

The Alberta PNP does not provide a list of qualified occupations. It is not needed to have an offer of a job in Alberta to be issued with an invitation to apply for an Alberta provincial nomination for Canada PR. Alberta Issued invitations to 501 Express Entry applicants in January 2020 alone.
