Alberta immigration has started two critical changes to the demands for the Alberta Opportunity Stream. The modifications associated with income thresholds and least language requirements and are being appealed to applications obtained by the Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program following Jun 14, 2018.
In the initial change, the income demand for the Alberta Opportunity Stream has been eliminated. A provincial statement stated: The A.I.N.P will still verify whether applicants are being paid the provincial least salary and whether they’re being given the least wage for their profession.
The second move sees the language demand continue at C.L.B 4 for jobs in the National Occupational Classification C and D. There had been a proposal to extend the requirement to C.L.B 5.
At the meantime, those appealing with jobs in NOC 0, A and B can also remain to appeal with a CLB 4. A prior plan to strengthen the requirement to C.L.B 5 has been postponed till Jan 1, 2020.
Following applicants have been nominated, the central government will decide whether applicants can support themselves along with their families above the long term.
The Alberta Opportunity Stream began on June 14, 2018, substituting the Strategic Recruitment Stream and Employer-Driven Stream. The launch was postponed after initially being projected for Jan 2018.
It is intended to clarify the Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program's process of application, decrease waiting times and make the system better for applicants and employers.
