The Saskatchewan province held its second round of significant draws in two weeks on 2 October 2019, inviting 610 applicants to apply for a nomination from the province for Canadian PR.
This is the second significant draw held since the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (S.I.N.P) dramatically increased the number of high-skilled professions that are qualified below its popular sub-categories of Express Entry & Occupation In-Demand.
A sum of 769 invitations to apply for a nomination from the province was announced to Saskatchewan immigration applicants in draws by these two sub-categories in the last week.
Invited applicants represented 77 professions, the S.I.N.P reported. Among those involved were HR professionals, engineers, legal assistants, computer network technicians, educational counselors, natural & applied science researchers and also cleaning supervisors.
Applicants need to have a minimum of one-year skilled work experience in an eligible profession related to their area of study to be considered for a nomination from the province through both sub-categories, there are also other qualification requirements.
An employment offer in Saskatchewan and work experience in Canada are not required.
The draws held on 2 Oct and 25 Sept was among the biggest conducted by Saskatchewan province since it shifted the sub-categories of Express Entry & Occupation In-Demand to an EOI system in July 2018.
A sum of 214 invitations given to Occupation In-Demand applicants and the remaining 396 invitations was announced through the SINP’s sub-category Express Entry, which is open to qualified applicants with a profile in the Canadian Express Entry system.
To be considered for a nomination from the Saskatchewan province, Express Entry applicants must register a separate EOI with the Saskatchewan PNP.
Applicants with the highest scores are encouraged to apply for a nomination from the province by regular draws from the EOI pool of SINP.
The minimum required scores in the S.I.N.P’s 2 October draws were 68 for both the Occupation In-Demand and Express Entry sub-categories. These minimum required scores were lower than the previous week’s draw, which had a minimum score of 70 for Express Entry applicants and 79 for Occupations In-Demand applicants.
