Saskatchewan Increases The Frequency Of Entrepreneur Stream Draws

In the past, the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program held Expression of Interest draws for once in three months. In the new plan, these draws will now take place once in two months. There will be two draws, one in September and the next in November. The dates of the Draws for Saskatchewan Entrepreneurs are September 19^th, 2018, November 21^st, 2018.

Method of Working of the Saskatchewan Entrepreneur Stream

This Entrepreneur stream has three stages:

• Expression of interest
• Invitation to submit application
• Nomination

This EOI has to meet the following Entry Requirements:

• Minimum net worth of $500,000 that is acquired legally.
• Minimum three years experience of entrepreneur/relevant management.
• Investment of $300,000 in Saskatoon/Regina, or $200,000 in  other areas of Saskatchewan.

Candidates who enter the pool receive a score and the high scoring candidates receive an invitation to submit an application.

Also these applications must have:

• A Business Establishment Plan to confirm the figures in EOI and also include one third ownership of a company in Saskatchewan, except if investment is $1 million or above it.
• A firm Commitment to be active in daily management of business.
• Creation of two or additional jobs for citizens or permanent residents of Canada in case the business has the location in Saskatoon/Regina.

The website SINP also mentions that the SINP has the right to assess Business Establishment Plans by third party professional which are identified by the Saskatchewan government. Such assessment has a focus on the preparation and meticulousness of the applicant in creating the Business Plan.

The recent Entrepreneur draw for Saskatchewan was held on July 18^th. In it 187 candidates received the invitations after scoring points between 100 and 135 and the average score stood at 105. It was the fourth largest draw for the Entrepreneur stream of SINP.

Furthermore, Saskatchewan has recently introduced an Expression of Interest system for the skilled worker streams. From July 16^th, 2018, the Occupations In-Demand and Saskatchewan Express Entry streams of the International Skilled Worker category started to use the format of E.O.I.
