After figuring out sharp decline in Indian Tourists in 2014, South Africa Tourism announced to set up four new visa application centers in India. 3.7 percent of Indians visited South Africa in 2014 out of the total travelers. In 2015, the tourism department noticed 8.5 percent decrease in the number of tourists made the South Africa to take appropriate measures to attract the potential Travelers to South Africa.
The new visa application centers will make up total 13 South Africa Visa Application Centers (VACS) in India. The South Africa Tourism Minister Derek Hanekom announced that the systematic approach to introducing new services in India was to reach a maximum number of people.
In the early April, the South Africa Minister for Tourism has visited India to make an announcement on the visa centers. The minister also said that the Indians who go through the stringent visa tests of the Canada, Australia, and the United States will be given an opportunity for visa-free entry into the South Africa.
To attract a number of Indians, South Africa is also planning to introduce visa on arrival facility to the Indians.
